Founded in 2015, Custom Collaborative is a New York City-based entrepreneurship and workforce development program that trains and empowers women from low-income, BIPOC and immigrant communities to design, sew, and sell sustainable fashion.
Their model of training, production and consumption prioritizes environmental and humanitarian sustainability while challenging racial and gender inequity in the fashion industry. Another Tomorrow’s support allows the program’s participants to professionalize their skills, obtain experience, and start new careers as artisans and entrepreneurs. Another Tomorrow and Custom Collaborative alongside their NYC peers are also furthering an industry conversation on the development of a living wage protocol for the NYC Garment District.
